Hello world!

Standard

So this is my first foray into blogworld.  I read lots of them so I hope writing one won’t be too painful.

Let’s get the niceties out of the way- I’m AJ.  So nice to meet you.  I’m 29.  I have Rheumatoid Arthritis.  Some days I don’t feel great, other days I forget I have it.  It’s been quite an experience- some people really let it define them and are content to accept limitations.  I am not, much to the chagrin of my doctor.  I’ve looked and looked for blogs written by people who have RA that are my age and all I find are people who are miserable, depressing, and content to wallow.  I have nothing in common with these people.  I will not let RA change any part of my life.  I like to think that I am one stubborn bitch.  So, at the urging of several friends, this is my attempt to fill that void.

Prepare to hear about what I go through with my RA as well as the things I refuse to give up.  Actually, you’ll hear more about what I won’t give up because those things are way more important to me.  I will go ahead and apologize for a couple of things: I’m kinda snobby, I like to cuss, and I hate Blue Cross Blue Shield.  I will (seldom) admit to being way more sensitive about things than I should be so please be nice.

  1. Hey there, I hope I’m not one of the blogs you found that was miserable, depressing, and content to wallow. That’s exactly what I’m aiming not to be … though since I often blog when I feel a bit rubbish, it might sometimes appear that way!

Sorry you had such a rotten time with methotrexate …and the medical profession. MTX is working well for me so far, but I DO know the feeling about the medics! ;o)

  2. hey AJ,
I love your attitude…very inspiring. I hope you read my blog because I as well am not letting ra take over my life. I think we should all band together and refuse to let it.

  3. I can’t wait to read more on your blog. I can completely relate to the horror stories out there on RA and refuse to read them. I am looking for people like you that refuse to let this take over their lives. I also blog about RA, among other things, (check my labels for RA) but feel there is a nice number of blogs now available to keep us motivating each other. Cathy
